Lesson 3 of 5
Simple Sentences & Grammar — جملات ساده
In Persian, the sentence structure is: Subject + Object + Verb (SOV), which is different from English!
Examples:
من کتاب میخوانم. (Man ketaab mikhaanam.) = I read a book.
او آب میخورد. (U aab mikhore.) = He/She drinks water.
ما فارسی یاد میگیریم. (Maa Farsi yaad migirim.) = We are learning Farsi.
---
Negation — adding «ن» (na/ne) before the verb:
من نمیخوانم. = I am not reading.
او نمیخورد. = He/She is not eating.
Question Words:
کی؟ (Ki?) = Who?
چی؟ (Chi?) = What?
کجا؟ (Kojaa?) = Where?
چرا؟ (Cheraa?) = Why?
چطور؟ (Chetour?) = How?
Practice: Write three sentences about yourself in Farsi using the SOV structure.
